25704BRPosition Title:Director of Group SalesJob Overview:This position is accountable for generating budgeted group room nights and/or revenue on anestablished account base through personal selling and through the management of at least4 direct reports. This position is the first line leadership position within the group salesorganization. It is responsible for the training, development and performance of thedirect reporting personnel. When applicable, it represents the Executive Director of Sales &Marketing in his/her absence. It assists in making operational decisions on businesswithin broad parameters, and actively participates in the Resort’s revenue strategy meetings.Req ID:25704BRCity:CarolinaEssential Functions:Manage the day-to-day activities of group sales managers and administrative assistants.Full responsibility for generating budgeted group room nights.Identify and target prospective customers and new business development strategies.Organize and execute sales calls and attend industry events and tradeshows as required for self and team.Keep accurate records of potential customers and follow through on all potential Business within established timeline for response and follow up.Responsible for co-managing the hotels group marketing efforts with marketing manager and/or agencies.Develop ongoing relationships with key customers and industry leaders, both local and US-based.Prepare production reports as required by EDOSM.Execute strategies outlined in the Resort’s marketing business plan, and modify/update as needed according to trends and market conditions. Participate and host site inspections, FAMs and industry trade shows.Schedule and effectively manage business trips and appointments within assigned markets and within assigned budgeted expenses.Collect market and competitive intelligence to assess demand and implement appropriate rate and deployment strategies to achieve short and long-term goalsQualifications: Have excellent existing relationships with US-based meeting planner executivesand key Third-Party partner agencies. Four-year Bachelor’s degree preferred.5 years of group sales experience at a Resort/Hotel of comparable size and scope.
