American Red Cross Grants Manager - Long Term Recovery Maria in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico

Job Description:

We are currently seeking aGrants Managerto work for the Hurricane Maria Long Term Recovery Program.

This is a full time, benefits eligible position which is expected to last approximately 24 months.

The Grants Manager is responsible supporting field staff in the solicitation and evaluation of grant proposals, recommendations to Hurricane Maria Recovery Program leadership and monitoring of grant funds.

Duties:

  • Support the field staff in seeking community partners with aligned missions and support the development of grant proposals within the parameters of the Hurricane Irma Recovery Program.

  • Evaluate proposals, perform due diligence on potential grantees, and make recommendations to the grant decision-makers.

  • Work with Finance to implement grants processing and disbursement, and monitoring allocations as required.

  • Work with national headquarters grants compliance.

  • Monitor use and outcomes of grant funds by grantees.

  • Interact with and support decision-makers and staff involved in the recovery grant.

  • Follow and implement recovery grant-making guidance and policies.

  • Track required data, maintain required files.

  • Develop and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain good relationships with grant-seekers and grantees.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience: 3-5 years of not-for-profit experience, financial assistance processing, partner-agency relations, and business administration.

Skills and Abilities: Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently, handle and prioritize multiple tasks. Ability to manage programs. Background in grant writing, grants management and/or grant review. Exhibits sound and accurate judgment. Ability to effectively coordinate the activities of multiple stakeholders.

Other: Intermediate level proficiency with MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiarity with grants/fundraising databases preferred.

Bilingual preferred.
