PUERTO RICO NATIONAL GUARD ARMY TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT AMMENDED COLA: 3.48% Duty Location: Camp Santiago Joint Training Center (CSJTC), Salinas, PR

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: This position require military membership in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard (PRARNG). If you are not a military member of the PRARNG (i.e. Airman, civilian, active duty Soldier, prior service, guard member from another state, reservist, IRR, State Guard, etc.), you must contact the Recruiting and Retention (R&R;) Office at (787) 289-1400 extension 2008 or 2015 and request the PRARNG Military Basic Requirements (MBR) Certification. If the MBR certification is not submitted, or you do not meet the requirements to be a member of the PRARNG, your application will not be screened. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Area 1 =Permanent technician Enlisted members currently employed in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard.

Area 2 =Enlisted members of the Puerto Rico Army National Guard and personnel that meet all requirements to become a Soldier in the Puerto Rico Army National Guard. (This position requires Army National Guard membership).

First round consideration will be given to Area 1 Candidates. (Area 2 Candidates will be screened only in the event that there are no qualified or recommended Area 1 Candidates).

To prevent a grade inversion, military rank allowed for this position will be determined at the final evaluation of the vacancy announcement considering the military rank of the supervisor.

Responsibilities

As a SUPPLY TECHNICIAN (D0848000), GS-2005-5, you will provide services in support of inventory control, storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems.

Physical Demands: Physical demands involve some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items of files. No special physical demands required.

Working Environment: Work is typically performed indoors in an environment requiring normal safety precautions typical of an office setting. The area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

  • National Guard Membership is required. Acceptance of the position constitutes concurrence to wear the appropriate military uniform.
  • Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Possess or be able to acquire a SECRET security clearance.
  • May be required to successfully complete a probationary period.
  • Proper protective equipment must be used to comply with safety standards.
  • Evidence of identity must be provided to comply with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (PL 99-603).
  • Continued employment in this position is contingent upon satisfactory completion of the mandatory training specifically identified for the position.
  • Individual selected must enroll in the Department of Defense Direct Deposit / Electronic Fund Transfer Pay Program.
  • Loss of military membership will result in immediate loss of your full-time military technician position.
  • Excepted Civil Service Technicians are required to maintain a MOS/AFSC and military grade that is determined by the NGB to be compatible with the assigned technician position.
  • In order to achieve compatibility prior to effective date of personnel action, individual selected must be eligible for military assignment to a paragraph and line number in one of the following ECMF 42 OR 92.
  • Individual selected for this position who is not qualified in one of the mentioned BR/CMF/MOS, MUST submit to HRO, before date of appointment, the correct military documentation to attend the technical training school required to be MOS Qualified.
  • If selectee fails to process the school application and does not successfully graduate from the school, he/she will be terminated from the technician program for failure to meet the compatibility standards and receive a 30 days notice of separation.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered. Experience using computer and automation systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:Applicant must possess more than SIX (6) monthsof specialized experience performing or supervising duties such as establishing supply regulations, policies, and procedures or other supply management guidelines; determining stock replenishment for supplies and other material; maintaining an accurate accounting and reporting system; preparing, maintaining, and publishing agency stock lists; determining stock replenishment for centrally controlled items and editing supply transactions or provides customer service.

Education

Completion of 2 academic years of education in an accredited college or university (30 semester's hours or 20 classroom hours of instruction per week) for 3 months of specialized experience. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. Courses must be directly related to the work of the position.* Copy of student transcripts or training certificates must be included in order to receive credit for education. Unofficial transcripts from internet or with alterations will not be considered*. To receive credit for education the information must be included in the education section of the Resume.
